Building Project

In June 2010, Familia Moja purchased land in Mang’u to build a permanent and self-sustainable home for the Familia Moja children. Moving to a permanent home means that money currently spent on rent can be channeled into projects that work towards the home’s sustainable future. From December 2011 to March 2013, Familia Moja employed qualified local builders, architects and labourers to build the home, this ensured that the building was constructed safely and in accordance with local regulations and methods. Employing local builders also means injecting funds into the local community and economy.

At the end of March 2013 the children moved from their rented home into their very own home! However the home is not yet finished with the dining/study hall, kitchen, back balcony, painting and plumbing/electricity to be completed when funds permit. What a short clip of Jess with the children of Familia Moja below
